PileLine started as a collaboration project involving the Next Generation Computer Systems Group (SING) at the School of Computer Engineering in the University of Vigo and the Bioinformatics Unit (UBio) at CNIO.

PileLine tools have been developed and are maintained by Daniel González-Peña and Miguel Reboiro Jato. Dani and Miguel are computer scientists at SING group .

Gonzalo Gómez López made the PileLine beta-testing, validation and documentation. Gonzalo is computational biologist at UBio.

Florentino Fernandez-Riverola and David Gonzalez Pisano are in charge of SING and UBio respectively and they have coordinated the project.
